1 killed, 1 badly hurt in Washtenaw County plane crash

1 person taken to hospital in critical condition

BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – One person was killed and another was badly hurt when a plane crashed Monday in Washtenaw County.

The crash happened at 1:13 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2024, in the area of Michigan Avenue and Lima Center Road in Bridgewater Township.

There were two people aboard the plane: a flight instructor and a student.

Officials said one person was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

Another person had to be extricated from the wreckage. That person was taken to U of M Hospital in critical condition.

Michigan State Police officials are handling the investigation.
