Dearborn flight instructor killed, student hurt in small plane crash

22-year-old man hospitalized in Ann Arbor

WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – The identities of the two victims involved in a deadly Washtenaw County plane crash on Monday have been revealed.

Michigan State Police say a 46-year-old man, who was the flight instructor from Dearborn, died in the small plane crash crash. A 22-year-old student -- a man from North Carolina studying at the University of Michigan -- was injured.

The crash occurred at 1:13 p.m. on Monday, June 10, in the area of Michigan Avenue and Lima Center Road in Bridgewater Township.

The injured student was being treated at the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor.

Officials said people traveling on the highway stopped and did all they could to help. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were investigating the crash.
