The new location, at 200 E. Washington St., will be run by Candace and Austin Kovar and will feature both indoor and outdoor seating.

“My entrepreneurial spirit comes from my mother who taught me what it takes to run a successful business. After welcoming our daughter during the pandemic, I was on the hunt to find a business that we could grow for her in hopes of instilling within her the same outlook and spirit,” said Candace Kovar in a release.

“We saw Toastique’s growth across the country and after meeting the team behind it all, we discovered how well it aligned with my values of eating healthy, fresh food and investing in wellness. It was a ‘ding ding ding’ moment of finding the perfect fit for our family and our hometown! Ann Arbor is a beautiful, diverse community and I’m confident that they are going to love Toastique.”

Started in Washington D.C. in 2018, the Toastique franchise has locations in more than 10 states across the US. It was created by former D1 collegiate cheerleader Brianna Keefe, and went on to make more than $1 million in sales its first year.

Toastique Ann Arbor will have smooth bowls, toast-based eats, espresso and coffee drinks, cold-pressed juices and to-go options. The menu includes beet lattes, super fruit smoothies and specialty toasts with avocados, marinated tomatoes, microgreens and more.

The location will be open between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Sundays.
