ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Commuters, students and families can flash their library cards to get free trips on TheRide buses during weekends between June 15 to August 25.

The Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti District libraries are partnering with the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide) to offer free rides as part of the AADL Summer Game and YDL Summer Challenge.

To get a lift, cardholders must:

  • show bus drivers a valid AADL or YDL library card
  • be on a local, fixed-route bus

AADL Summer Game players can get 1,000 points when they find the game code sign hidden inside TheRide buses. Some buses will also have AADL ads on the outside with codes worth 500 points. As a bonus, TheRide website also has a hidden code, worth 100 points, on the “Washtenaw Express” information page.

YDL players can also look for a hidden Summer Challenge code to submit online.
