“Their commitment to our community’s youth is appreciated and invaluable, and we hope that a Y membership will help them recharge and take care of their own health and well-being this summer and beyond.”

Free memberships run through August 31 and include access to the Y’s fitness center at 400 W. Washington St., group exercise classes, wellness programs and community events.

To be eligible, educators must have been employed by schools in either Washtenaw or Livingston county between January 1 through June 17, 2024.

Here’s how:

Those eligible can join the YMCA online and enter code “K12EDU” when enrolling. They will need to verify their employment before their summer passes are activated.

Memberships can be obtained in person at the front desk of the Y by bringing a valid school ID or proof of employment.

Educator membership can be extended past Aug. 31 and come with a recurring 20 percent discount.

Those with questions can contact the YMCA Regional Facilities Director Chris Biggs at 734-661-8057 and cbiggs@annarborymca.org, or Assistant Membership Director Scott Powers at 734-661-8029 or spowers@annarborymca.org.
