Officials say the bicyclist, a 45-year-old man from Ypsilanti, was crossing Washtenaw Avenue when he was hit by a 23-year-old woman, also from Ypsilanti, going westbound through the intersection.

The bicyclist was taken to the University of Michigan hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition.

Officials say good Samaritans had helped the bicyclist before the AAPD and Huron Valley Ambulance arrived.

Police said the 23-year-old woman remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
