Ann Arbor figure skating coach charged with 4th-degree criminal sexual conduct

The victim is not being identified

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Metro Detroit’s figure skating community is dealing with the news that a coach has been charged with criminal sexual conduct.

Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club coach Steven Pottenger is facing two counts of fourth-degree charges linked to a victim between the ages of 13 and 16.

The victim is not being identified, but court documents showed the allegations date back to July 2020, and it’s not clear if the victim was a member of the club.

United States Safesport has also suspended Pottenger, and the Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club is not commenting.
