Due to the initial crash, the Corvette traveled into the southbound lane of South State Street and was then hit by a Jeep and SUV.

A 20-year-old passenger in the Corvette was taken to a hospital in critical condition while the 17-year-old driver received minor injuries.

The 69-year-old driver of the truck, four people in the Jeep, and one person in the SUV were all taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Officials said speed is thought to be a contributing factor in the crash.

Roads were closed during the investigation but have since reopened.
