Woodson Bourbon Whiskey named University of Michigan’s first spirit sponsor

Whiskey will be visible in the stadium

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – While The Big House marks its first year selling alcohol, the University of Michigan athletic department gets its first spirit sponsor from Charles Woodson, one of the greatest football players ever.

It’s called Woodson Bourbon Whiskey.

It’s known for its quality and craftsmanship and reflects the same dedication and passion its founder showed throughout his career.

Tyrann Mathieu's play for top-ranked LSU has spawned a grass roots Heisman Trophy campaign by LSU fans that includes a Tyrann Mathieu for Heisman Facebook page. His chances of joining Woodson to become the second defense-first player in the modern era of football to win the Heisman are probably pretty slim. (AP Photo/Adam Nadel, File) (AP1997)

The new sponsorship is all thanks to the founder and the football legend who played for the Maize and Blue from 1995 to 1997, winning the Heisman Trophy and a national championship in the same year.

The whiskey will be visible in the stadium, and two specialty cocktails will be served in the premium club space.
