Police said the occupants of the home woke up and found several items missing, including a laptop that was pinged near the intersection of Packard and Main streets. A nearby gas station reportedly had surveillance video of the suspect using a stolen credit card.

Police said they were able to locate the vehicle parked nearby, where they could see several of the stolen items inside in plain view.

Javare Holmes was taken into custody at the scene. A search of his residence and vehicle reportedly resulted in the recovery of multiple stolen items from the Williams Street home and stolen property from other potential victims.

Holmes was charged with first-degree home invasion, receiving and concealing stolen property $1,000 or more but less than $20,000, and two counts of stealing a financial transaction device without consent. He was given a $75,000 bond and remains lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail.
