No punishments for players following Michigan football-Spartans scuffle in rivalry game

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Big Ten will not punish players involved in the Michigan Wolverines vs. Michigan State Spartans football teams.

The game, which was held on Saturday (Oct. 26) inside the Big House where the Wolverines took a 24-17 victory to advance to 5-3 on the season.

As the Wolverines were in the final knee of the game, two players, including superstar tight end Colston Loveland and MSU defensive end Anthony Jones got into a fight that quickly escalated with players on both sidelines coming onto the field.

The conference released a statement on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, saying it reviewed the incident and could not find evidence to support any disciplinary action.

The Big Ten commended the referees and coaches for quickly getting control of the situation.
