ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan football has flipped five-star mega quarterback prospect Bryce Underwood from his LSU commitment.
Underwood confirmed the commitment on his Instagram page. It has been hinted over the past month that Michigan renewed its push for the star QB with a massive NIL deal.
Underwood is the consensus No. 1 recruit in the 2025 recruiting class. He had been committed to LSU since Jan. 6, 2024. Now he becomes the first No. 1 overall recruit to commit to Michigan since Rashan Gary in the class of 2016.
The Wolverines desperately needed to land Underwood after a rough season at the quarterback position. Davis Warren, Alex Orji, and Jack Tuttle have rotated at the position, but nothing has worked for the Michigan offense.
Michigan is 5-5 after going 15-0 and winning the national championship in 2023, but this is a great start to getting the train back on the tracks.
Underwood is 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds. He led Belleville to a 10-2 record this season with 2,095 passing yards, 29, touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 489 yards and a score.
