ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan football has landed a transfer quarterback to come in and compete with five-star recruit Bryce Underwood next season.
Mikey Keene, a transfer from Fresno State, committed to Michigan on Monday out of the transfer portal. Keene threw for 2,892 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions this season.
He played at the Big House in the season opener on Aug. 31, 2024, throwing for 235 yards, a touchdown, and two picks in a 30-10 Michigan win.
Next year will be the fifth and final season of college eligibility for Keene, who spent two years at UCF before transferring to Fresno State before the 2023 season.
He only appeared in four games in 2022, which is why he retained a year of eligibility.
In his career, Keene has thrown for 8,245 yards, 65 touchdowns, and 28 picks.
The Michigan quarterback battle will be much more fun to watch next year after the Alex Orji/Davis Warren/Jack Tuttle trio disappointed in 2024.
Underwood was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2025 class and has a chance to earn the job as soon as he steps on campus.
Michigan also has former four-star QB Jadyn Davis on the roster. Davis redshirted in 2024 after committing to the Wolverines as one of the top passers in his class.
