ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan is going to suspend football coach Sherrone Moore for two games over the advanced scouting case, according to ESPN.
The report says Moore will miss the third and fourth games of the season against Central Michigan and Nebraska as part of the self-imposed suspension. Michigan opens the season against New Mexico and then hits the road to play Oklahoma, which is where Moore played in college.
This suspension is linked to the ongoing investigation into illegal advanced scouting by Connor Stalions, a former staffer who resigned midway through 2024.
During his suspension, Moore won’t be able to participate in any team-related activities. He is also expected to get recruiting-related penalties, Dan Wetzel and Pete Thamel say in the report.
Moore was the offensive coordinator when Stalions got accused of advanced scouting in 2023. The Wolverines went 15-0 and won the national championship, but the investigation into this case has continued by the NCAA.
Stalions is accused of sending people to games involving future Michigan opponents and having them send him cellphone video of the sideline signals.
