WESTLAND, MI – Don Nicholson could be called a veteran in the car cruising game.
With over 20 years of experience putting on car shows and cruises, Nicholson hopes to have another winner with the All American Cruise on July 13.

The inaugural event will take place on Wayne Road from Joy Street to Glenwood Road in Westland.
Nicholson, who has been called the "Cruise Guru" before, has plenty of experience running and promoting car cruises with Cruisin' Hines and numerous car shows under his belt. He expects the number for the All American Cruise to be in the thousands.
"I gave up predicting numbers when we were expecting 4000-5000 cars at the first Hines Drive Cruise and ended up with 24,371 registered vehicles. It is safe to say that we are expecting thousands of cars and even more spectators." Nicholson said.
Every car cruise has classic rides, food, and entertainment and you'll be seeing a lot of that at this cruise.
The Westland Historic Village Park will be giving out dashboard plaques to the first one hundred cruises who come by and are offering free parking to all pre-World War 2 automobiles.
"We will have one of the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix Cars on display," Nicholson adds, "We also have multiple businesses along the route hosting charity fund raisers or car clubs."
I asked Don what he'd be driving for the cruise. His answer?
"2003 Hot Rod Ford Windstar as I need the space to haul all our supplies around for the day. We are in the process of building a custom C-Cab truck for next year."
