Detroit Bus Company offers shuttle to Detroit Metro Airport

Detroit Airport Flyer prepped to shuttle thousands of Thanksgiving travelers from DTW to Detroit and Royal Oak for only $12

DETROIT – The Detroit Department of Transportation and the Detroit Bus Company are entering into an unprecedented two-day partnership to pilot the Detroit Airport Flyer, offering a brand new, convenient way for Metro Detroiters to access the Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Tickets are now on sale at detroitairportflyer.com for Thanksgiving holiday travelers.

The two-day pilot service will operate on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and Sunday, Dec. 1 from 4:50 a.m. to 11:15 p.m., continually shuttling travelers from the Rosa Parks Transit Center and Downtown Royal Oak.

In addition to convenient, inexpensive travel during the year's busiest travel season, each luxury motor coach will feature on-board wireless internet, on-board restrooms, knowledgeable conductors to assist passengers with luggage and information, and mobile phone-ready GPS trackers.

"This is about more than running a few busses down the road," said Detroit Bus Company Founder Andy Didorosi. "It's about testing a new service that Detroiters sorely lack, and have repeatedly asked for. We're confident that this service will be an asset to both travelers and locals in Metro Detroit."

Tickets are available at detroitairportflyer.com. Riders are encouraged to reserve their seats ahead of time, though each bus will retain a limited number of seats for walk-on riders as well.
