Beginning Friday via Facebook, Lay's will announce the online contest, "Do Us a Flavor." Contestants will be asked to submit new and unique chip flavors online. The winning chip chef will receive $1 million for their recipe and the chip will be package and sold to consumers in 2013.

If the winner is truly confidant with their flavor they can pick the option of receiving 1 percent of the flavor's net sales instead.

Facebook voters will select three finalists who will also have their chips packaged and sold.

According to USAToday, Lay's used similar contests outside of its U.S market. The winning flavor in Serbia last year was pickled cucumber.

Facebook is also reportedly changing up their format just for the chip promotion, as user will click "I'd eat that" instead of the usual "like" on the Lay's page. For a little inspiration a few flavors already being sold by Lay's include; tangy Carolina BBQ flavor, garden tomato and Basil, creamy garden ranch, BLT flavored chips, Maui onion, honey mustard and lemon flavors.
