Some families still need help recovering from historic flooding

There are thousands of families in Detroit who have still not recovered from the August, 2014 floods.

It has been more than a year and still thousands of families have significant mold and damage in their homes that was caused by the flood.

For many of these people with black mold it has become a health hazard.

Through a creative partnership The Northwest Detroit Flood Recovery Project of the United Methodist Church and All Hands Volunteers are committed to working together to assist Detroit residents who have been neglected and ignored.

We are offering free clean up assistance where we will remove flood damaged possessions and building materials.

In addition, we sanitize the basement to remove the mold threat and return the home to a safe living space.

Finally, we are repairing and rebuilding flood damaged homes for those who need it most.

This is all done at zero cost to the homeowner.

We are seeking volunteers and/or funding to enable us to continue this work.
