DETROIT – She helped brides say "Yes, to the dress," in New York. But now that Keasha Rigsby has said yes to Detroit, a one-of-a-kind bridal boutique has a new home on Jefferson Avenue.
“Look around here. This city is explosive, and I have to let everyone know about it. Detroit reached out to me,” Rigsby told Local 4's Lauren Podell during a recent tour of the new bridal boutique.
Rigsby is a television personality and bridal consultant best known as a star of the hit television series "Say Yes To The Dress."
After spending eight years at Kleinfeld’s, Rigsby has branched out on her own and is bringing her passion for fashion from New York to Detroit.
“I am living my dream and it’s coming to life,” Rigsby said. “Now that I am in control, it’s not about sales, it’s not about commission. I want every bride to have the best experience ever and leave my store floating.”
The boutique is called Beautiful Bridal, located just east of downtown on Jefferson Avenue in the Renaissance Revival Mansion. When she saw the building, she knew it was the perfect fit.
“Look at this place. Could I have gotten a place like this in New York city? No way,” Rigsby said.
While the space did undergo renovations, Rigsby and her partners knew it was important to keep the Detroit flare. The façade, window treatments and stainless glass are all original. Even the grand piano was found in an abandoned home and revitalized, becoming a focal point in the boutique.
“I believe we are one of the first upscale, high end bridal shops in the city of Detroit and I want every bride, I want to satisfy every single one,” Rigsby said.
Beautiful Bridal opens to public Feb. 4.
