PLYMOUTH, Mich. – It’s a great time to be a woman in music.
As the industry changes, women are given more opportunities than ever before to license their songs, perform live, and earn sponsorships. Musical women are being represented in TV, film, and current events. In light of this, Pastel, together with Jenesis Entertainment and Green Bell Marketing, is hosting Women in Harmony, a networking event for musicians, industry representatives, and anyone interested in exploring the music business.

Pastel is a shared workspace and community aiming to do one thing: Empower women. By uniting the women of the Michigan music scene, we are going to do exactly that.
The agenda features refreshments, live performances by Julie Haven and DJ Sasha, a keynote address by Audra Kubat, and networking with musicians and industry representatives including talent buyers, agents, journalists, and managers.
Keynote speaker Audra Kubat is an award winning Detroit songwriter, vocalist, producer, and educator. She established the label Remedy Records in 1999 and has released 6 albums to critical acclaim. Kubat is a songwriting instructor at MSU Denver/DIME Detroit, a teaching artist at Wolf Trap/Living Arts, and a writer in residence at InsideOut Literary Arts Project. Currently, Kubat is developing community outreach programming for the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Headline performer Julie Haven has been singing ever since she spoke her first word. Never known to be shy around an audience, her strong love of music has been with her all her life. Performing from the smallest coffee houses to the largest festivals she has captivated audiences through her songwriting, and unique interpretations of other popular songs.
DJ Sasha’s frontline experience with music has made the art of DJ-ing and rocking the crowd her second nature. A former professional dancer and choreographer, she is no stranger to the spotlight. From night clubs to weddings, even themed children celebrations, her versatility sets her apart from the rest.
When all the women in the southeast Michigan music industry are connected, we can make amazing things happen.
