DETROIT – The 48th Annual New Year's Eve Family Fun Run/Walk being held at Belle Isle Park is Sunday, Dec. 31.
The one mile fun run begins at 3:30 p.m. and the 5K starts at 4 p.m.

Www.LiveInWoodbridge.com is the title sponsor; the host running club is the Downtown Runners and Walkers. Other sponsors include DTE Energy, Henry Ford Health Systems, Hanson's Running stores, and HAP. Donations collected will benefit Special Olympics of Michigan.
“We cannot thank www.LiveInWoodbridge.com and the other companies and individuals supporting us enough,” said Jeanne Bocci, race director. “This race, which is the longest-continuously-held running event in Michigan, has become a favorite holiday activity for multiple generations and our numbers are growing.”
Features of the event include post-race refreshments, an awards presentation for the top 3 men and women in the 5K, a Belle Isle designed medal for the first 1,000 race finishers, a trophy for every child who finishes the 1-mile event while supplies last. All participants will receive a commemorative race shirt while supplies last.
- Entry fees are $20 for children 12 and under, and $40 for 13 and older.
- Mail in registrations will be accepted through Dec. 21.
