‘Looking Out For You’ float to debut in America’s Thanksgiving Parade

DETROIT – Huntington Bank and The Parade Company unveiled a brilliant new float, “Looking Out for You” Friday morning during the 20th Annual Parade Company Pancake Breakfast presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. The float spanning over 100-feet long and featuring over 100 honeycombs will make its debut on Woodward Avenue at the 93rd America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van.

Huntington Bank executive Sandy Pierce and Eric Dietz, President of Huntington Bank Southeast Michigan Region were joined by Tony Michaels, President and CEO of The Parade Company and hundreds of business and community leaders for the annual event and to experience the float reveal on WDIV Local 4. The morning also featured a live broadcast by News/Talk 760 WJR’s Paul W. Smith.

It’s an honor to participate and we are excited to unveil and share our new ‘Looking Out for You’ float which reflects the commitment every Huntington colleague has to listening to customers, thinking creatively on their behalf and delivering tools that make people’s lives better,” said Sandy Pierce. “Looking out for people means proactively caring for those we serve. We find places where we can create small moments of kindness or delight, including small gestures like giving someone a pen or an umbrella when they need it. Life is about moments and Huntington will be there for the big ones, the small ones and the ones in the middle.”

The “Looking Out for You” float was designed and built by The Parade Company. Measuring over 100-feet long, the float features the Huntington Bank signal, soaring over 25 feet high and seven feet wide along with an 8-foot tall signature pen. Other unique float features include a spinning umbrella that is 12 feet in diameter and 16-foot tall Huntington Bank characters that are “looking out for you.”

Voted as America’s Number One Holiday Parade by the 2018 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards and recognized as one of the best Thanksgiving parades in the country by U.S. News & World Report Travel, America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van takes place on Thursday, November 28. WDIV-Local 4’s live coverage begins at 6 a.m. with pre-parade coverage, followed by a parade pre-show beginning at 9 a.m. America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van will air live on WDIV-Local 4 from 10 a.m. – noon, including a one-hour syndicated national broadcast from 10 a.m. -11 a.m. reaching more than 185 television markets across the country.

News/Talk 760 WJR’s Paul W. Smith will host a pre-parade broadcast from 6 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Entercom’s 104.3 WOMC’s Stephen Clark and JoAnne Purtan (Mornings WOMC) will host live parade coverage from 10 a.m.- noon overlooking the parade route. For more information, visit theparade.org.
