2024 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service (Dearborn)

What’s happening: Please join us for a day ON rather than a day off on MLK Day! We will be packing 200,000 meals to provide to local Genesee County residents who are experiencing food insecurity No experience needed and all ages can participate - great for kids (ages 5+)

When and where: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Dort Federal Event Center (4901 Evergreen Rd, Dearborn, MI 48128)

Day of Service in honor of King (Troy)

What’s happening: The event begins at 8 a.m. with a free continental breakfast followed by a presentation by current students about the life and service of King. Inside the school gyms, stations will be set for making cards and blankets for charities as well as assembling craft kits, painting kindness rocks and making hop bracelets for Grace Centers of Hope.

When and where: 8 a.m. at Athens High School (4333 John R. Troy, MI)


Adat Shalom’s 10th Annual MLK Volunteer Day (Farmington Hills)

What’s happening: The tradition of helping organizations throughout Metro Detroit and Israel improve lives continues during Adat Shalom’s 10th Annual volunteer Day. Volunteers of all ages are invited to be a mensch. Volunteer Day is made possible thanks to a very dedicated planning committee.

When and where: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Adat Shalom Synagogue (29901 Middlebelt Rd Farmington Hills, MI, 48334)

21st Annual Detroit MLK Day Rally & March (Detroit)

What’s happening: This event is free and open to the public. The MLK Committee is dedicated to the preservation of the actual legacy of Dr. King.

When and where: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Matthew’s & St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church (8850 Woodward Avenue Detroit, MI 48202)
