Disney On Ice: Magic in the Stars (Little Caesars Arena), through Sunday: Make a wish for a magical journey with all your favorite Disney friends. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy will take you on an adventure through timeless classics like The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Aladdin, Cinderella and more. Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon will make her Disney on Ice debut soaring to new heights in this high-flying and thrilling spectacular on ice. Multiple showtimes available. Tickets start at $20. Winterfest (The Mall at Partridge Creek), Saturday noon to 4 p.m.: Things are getting chilly at The Mall at Partridge Creek! Bundle up for some winter fun as ice carvers create stunning creations all around. There will be arts and crafts, face painters and music from DJ Rick. It’s also a great day to go shopping as many of the tenants will have Winterfest-only deals. More info here.

Cupid’s Undie Run (Tin Roof), Saturday noon to 4 p.m.: Warm up by dressing down. Join runners from across the country on a mission to raise awareness and funds for those living with NF, a genetic disorder that affects 1 in every 3,000 births. The party starts at Tin Roof in Downtown Detroit and goes on for a mile-long “brief” run. Register here.

Winterfest: Celebrating Pride (Detroit Shipping Company), Saturday noon to 9 p.m.: Celebrate love and the LGBTQIA+ community at this inclusive and positive festival for Valentine’s weekend. Dance your heart out at the DJ dance party, warm up with hot cocoa, go shopping at the vendor market or snap a pic at several photo stations. African American Family Book Expo (Historic People’s Community Church), Saturday 12:30 to 6 p.m.: Returning for its 8th year, Michigan’s largest independent Black book fair is back to showcase the talents of dozens of independent Black authors. Connect with the writers and help children discover their love for reading. Admission is free. More info here.

Blake’s Annual Chili Cook-Off (Blake’s Hard Cider), Saturday 1 to 4 p.m.: It may be chilly outside, so warm up with some of the finest homemade chili around made by local competitors. Admission includes unlimited chili, one pint of hard cider or beer, a commemorative glass, live music and a chance to cheer on your favorite chili maker. Admission is $23. Get tickets here.

Royal Oak Whiskey Fest (Royal Oak Farmers Market), Saturday 7 to 10 p.m.: From barrel aged to bottom of the barrel, smoky to spicy, find whiskey, bourbon, rye and more from all around the world. Each ticket includes 10 samples from hundreds of options to choose from as well as a commemorative glass. Enjoy live entertainment from Cosmic Groove and purchase food from Tacos El Rodeo and Hog Heaven BBQ. 21 and over only. General admission is $49. Plymouth Artisan Market (VFM Post 6695), Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Looking for unique art or even a gift for yourself? Head to the Plymouth Artisan Market to find beautiful treasures made with love by your own neighbors. Oscar-Nominated Short Films: Animation and Live Action (Detroit Film Theatre), opening weekend: While the big blockbusters are the stars at the Oscars, the shorts are the headliners at the Detroit Film Theatre’s annual program. It’s a unique opportunity to see the Oscar Shorts on a big screen and to discover new works of art and artists. Advance ticket purchase recommended. 3-hour runtime with a 25-minute intermission.
