DETROIT – Earth Day celebrations that the whole family can take part in, plus Nicki Minaj returns to Detroit for the first time in almost a decade.

The pARTy (Tangent Gallery), Thursday to Sunday: After a successful first year, the pARTy is back to showcase the unique talents of local artists. Filled with immersive experiences, video DJ performances, live murals and workshops, this festival invites attendees to get creative and to be part of the work. Taste of Downtown Wyandotte, Friday 6 to 8 p.m.: Kickoff Wyandotte’s Restaurant Week with an all-new event. Taste of Downtown will showcase some of the best flavors and bites from Wyandotte’s exciting restaurants and bars to give the community a sample of what to expect all week long. Hot Chocolate Run (Milliken State Park), Saturday 7 a.m.: The sweetest race to come through Motor City is heating up. Select either a 5k, 10k or 15k that runs through the Detroit Riverfront and goes up through Dequindre Cut. Awaiting runners will be a post-run party filled with melt-in-your-mouth chocolates, treats and their famous hot chocolate. Registration starts at $59. More info and registration here.

Spring Artisan Market (Downtown Plymouth), Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Looking for something unique? You might just find it at the Spring Artisan Market. Dozens of artists and crafters set up shop for carefully made one-of-a-kind goods. You’ll find everything from jewelry, soaps, artisinal foods, pottery and so much more. Enjoy live music, food trucks and even crafting booths for the kids. More info here.

GreenFest (Detroit Zoo), Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Celebrate the greenest day of the year at one of the greenest parks in Detroit. Learn all about our ecosystems and how everyone, including the smallest of guests, can make a big difference in making our world more sustainable. Rock out with local musicians performing live at the zoo, grab a bite from a selection of green food trucks, check out the sustainable marketplace, and try hands-on activities that are both fun and educational. Dequindre Cut Spring Cleanup, Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: As the weather warms up, more and more of our community will be out and about on Dequindre Cut. Celebrate Earth Day by helping keep our public spaces clean. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and pickers. Register here.

Pre-Draft Community Picnic (Roosevelt Park), Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The stage is almost ready for the NFL Draft in Downtown Detroit. If you have football fever and just can’t wait another week, head to Roosevelt Park for a community celebration with a live DJ, lawn games and food trucks to countdown the big weekend. Earth Day Extravaganza (Nankin Mills Park), Saturday noon to 3 p.m.: Celebrate the 54th anniversary of Earth Day with fun for the whole family. Let your wild side out with the wildlife safari live animal show, learn how bees make our communities greener and join a relaxing nature hike. Broadway in Detroit Subscription Test Drive (Fisher Theatre), Saturday 2 to 7 p.m.: Want to know what it’s like to have the hottest ticket in town? Head on over to the Fisher Theatre to learn all about the upcoming theater season and test drive the seats to find your perfect view. Enjoy live entertainment, free snacks and beverages, get a tour of the Fisher and Ambassador Lounges and sip on half-price drinks for Happy Hour.
