Celebrate Detroit’s 323rd birthday with a free event in Spirit Plaza!

Raise the Flag Day (WDIV)

DETROIT – The 313 is turning 323 and we’re throwing Detroit a one-of-a-kind birthday party by raising the city’s flag, eating 323 cupcakes and dancing to live music!

Join Local 4 in partnership with Raise the Flag on Wednesday, July 24th for Detroit’s Birthday!

The celebration will be from 12pm-6pm with live music performances and a Detroit Flag raising ceremony at 3:13pm that will commence with cupcakes! You can’t have a birthday party without cupcakes right! One of these 323 cupcakes, specifically the 313th cupcake will have a golden ticket inside. The golden ticket will win you $100 worth of Detroit themed swag from Raise the Flag. In addition to all the cupcake fun provided by Flavorful Creations there will be “Only in Detroit” Trivia by T.Barb.

This event is free and open to all ages.

Food and drink will be available for purchase on site.

When: Wednesday, July 24th from 12pm-6pm

Where: Spirit of Detroit Plaza (outside the Spirit of Detroit statue)

We're kicking it off with Raise It Up Rooftop Day Party tomorrow and then with RAISE THE FLAG DAY on Wednesday, July 24th at the Spirit of Detroit for a big birthday party!
