TAYLOR, Mich. – A video of a local teen’s encounter with a popular social media influencer is gaining much positive attention regarding her kindness and the following surprises.
Skyler Donet, 13, was recently approached by MD Motivator, and influencer, who describes himself as the guy who makes videos making people happy.
His viral videos often highlight social experiments where MD Motivator approaches strangers, asking them for a couple of bucks.
The unsuspecting targets are often rewarded handsomely for their kindness.
The viral video shows MD Motivator approaching Donet and asking for a couple of bucks. The teen unselfishly offers up $2 and gives MD Motivator a cup of hot chocolate.
“How come you’re in a wheelchair?” MD Motivator asks.
“I have spina bifida,” Donet said. “It affects my spinal cord. My feet don’t work at all.”
The video then shows the man asking the teen about her dreams. Their meeting was more of a positive prank with a magical turn Donet never imagined coming her way.
MD Motivator heard about Donet’s participation in adaptive sports since age five. He was aware that sports bring teens a certain sense of joy. So, this encounter, or test of kindness, was part of a secret mission.
“My dream is to be a professional sled hockey player,” Donet told the man. “In the Paralympics one day.”
The tone of this meeting changed as MD Motivator offered the teen $1,000 and a note.
She immediately began crying with happiness. The cash donation was followed by an invitation for her family to attend the Winter Classic in Chicago with Wayne Gretzky and his family.
While there, Donet was also able to participate in a hockey camp.
Nothing is greater than the family of the hockey world 👏

“It was, honestly, like the best gift that I’ve ever had in my life,” Donet said.
Skyler Donet’s kindness is now part of a viral video that’s become a life-changing moment for the teen. It’s a memory MD Motivator said he’s happy to share.
“The superpower is in the small acts,” said MD Motivator. “Skyler giving me the two bucks, the hot chocolate, her wanting to help her parents. Like, we all have the power within us. I hope that when you watch the video, you feel enough to see these situations in life where you’re, like, can I do this? Should I do this? Maybe? Go for it! Because those small acts mean the most.”
MD Motivator said fundraising efforts to help Donet reach her goals of expanding her future in sled hockey have been significant.
In addition to sled hockey and training, Skyler’s father, Derek Donet, said she’s also taken up tennis as a second sport.
Her team, Belle Tire Self Hockey, is also preparing for the North American Women’s Sled Hockey Tournament on April 12 and 13 at Taylor Sportsplex, 13333 Telegraph Road, Taylor, MI 48180.
