WASHINGTON, Mich. – A treetop adventure park opened at Stony Creek Metropark Tuesday.
The Go Ape! Treetop Adventure Park is the first Michigan location for the company that features adventure courses through forests.

The park includes five zip lines stretching more than 4,000 feet, a “Double Tarzan swing,” rope obstacles such as ladders and bridges and more than 40 obstacles that are 40 feet or higher off the ground.
The course gets harder as participants progress through it, as it is supposed to be designed for a range of skill levels.
Huron-Clinton Metroparks will share in the revenue the park brings in, and no public money will be spent on the course.
According to Go Ape!, the company supports the communities its parks are located in by participating in cleanups, invasive plant removal and donating park tickets to underserved and special needs groups.
“We share similar core values with Go Ape! in how we serve the local community,” said Huron-Clinton Metroparks Director George Phifer. “Our goal is to connect people to nature in a variety of ways. We’re excited to add something completely unique like Go Ape! that’s both active and fun.”
Two- and three-hour adventures are available.
Adventures cost $58 for those 16 and older, and $38 for kids 10 to 15. Reservations can be made here.
The Treetop Adventure Park is located in Stony Creek Metropark at 3737 Southdale Drive in Washington, MI.
