DETROIT – General Motors has announced it is recalling nearly 9,000 model year 2010 & 2011 Cadillac SRX vehicles.
The affected vehicles include those manufactured from October 26, 2008 through June 23, 2011.

GM says an improperly routed transmission shift cable which may not be fully seated in the shift cable bracket is behind the recall. In such cases, the shift position indicator on the console may not be correct, misleading the driver to believe the vehicle is in park when it is not. This may result in either the inability to restart the vehicle or the potential for the vehicle to roll away while the vehicle is unattended, increasing the risk for a crash without prior warning.
