Apple faces lawsuit for not helping to prevent texting and driving

(Jeff King via CNN)

LOS ANGELES – Apple could be facing a class action lawsuit in California, demanding the tech giant use its technology to prevent users from texting and driving.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday, alleges that Apple has the ability to fit their phones with a "lock-out device" that would prevent users from using it while driving - but chose not to.

It's not clear what this lawsuit would mean for Apple nationwide.

In December, a lawsuit was filed against Apple, blaming them for a fatal crash caused by using FaceTime.
