Neighborhood is concerned after rainfall leaves watery mess in Macomb Township

Community has had enough

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. – There’s a watery mess in Macomb Township that left a few homes in one neighborhood concerned that it creates huge problems every time it rains.

Nick Cavallaro has had enough of it. Sunday (July 2) night was not a one-time event, as it has repeatedly been flooding since 2014.

“Every time there’s a big rain, I’m stressed that either I’m going to have structural damage to the house, or the basement is going to flood, or I’m going to have some sort of car damage or what’s going to happen to my lawn and trees and all that,” said Cavallaro.

Last year his wife’s car was a victim as her vehicle was flooded in the street.

“My wifes’ car was parked in front of the house, and the water rose up enough that it totaled the car,” Cavallaro said.
