PONTIAC, Mich. – Another Metro Detroit hospital system is suffering through some technology disruption -- McLaren Health Care.
Officials at McLaren Oakland said every single computer and phone in the hospital has been impacted. Anything digital that has to do with hospital systems has been impacted, including the website.
McLaren is working to figure out what caused the disruption. In a statement, the hospital said patients with scheduled appointments should still attend them unless they are contacted by someone at the hospital. Some procedures might be rescheduled out of an abundance of caution.
“We understand this situation may be frustrating to our patients -- and to our team members -- and we deeply and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” McLaren Health Care posted on social media. “We kindly ask for your patience while our caregivers and support teams work as diligently as ever to provide our communities the care they need and deserve.”
