DETROIT – You can feel the chill in the air. We hate to admit it as we’re enjoying this nice fall weather, but old man winter will be here soon enough.

Typically during this time of year, I hear from many tenants who are battling their landlord to turn on the heat. In some cases, the property management companies set a specific date to flip the heat on, and sometimes it just depends on the temperature outside.

The most important thing to remember is you have rights as a tenant, and the city is willing to help you.
