DETROIT – We have heard so much about fixing the (damn) roads in Michigan. It became the Governor’s campaign slogan essentially when she first ran. It worked, but have the roads really improved?

The short answer is yes. Major road and bridge projects have been completed or are underway but this is Michigan; will the (damn) roads ever be fixed?
I got a message on my Help Me Hank tipline from Bill who lives Downriver. He was so tired of the potholes in his area he went to Lowes bought an asphalt mix and got to work. Now, road officials have told him this could be a potential danger however he said he felt like it was his only option to get the job done.
Today on Local 4 News at 6 p.m., you will hear from Bill and you will see what you can do to report (and hopefully fix) problem roads in your area. See you tonight and also throughout the day on social media!
So you have a big, annoying pothole near you, or in your commute? You can report it. Use MDOT’s Report a Pothole form or call 888-296-4546 to report potholes on state roads.
Most state roads begin with M, I or US designations (e.g., I-75, M-28, US-23). Your report will be forwarded to the appropriate MDOT region office for action. (Fill out the form here)
Note: Reporting a pothole is not equivalent to submitting a claim for damages. If you believe your vehicle has been damaged on a state trunkline, find the online damage claim procedure and form.
