Leaning utility pole raises safety concerns in Madison Heights

How would you like a multitude of wires this close to your home?

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – A utility pole problem is creating significant concerns for a resident of Madison Heights—he worries that the pole will collapse onto his home.

He’s tried for years to get action, and on Monday (June 2), after calling Help Me Hank, he’s getting answers.

How would you like a multitude of wires this close to your home?

To understand the problem, Hank contacted DTE and AT&T. On Monday, many action crews are in full force, working to solve this issue. DTE released a statement.

“DTE Energy’s poles are frequently used for not only our electric equipment but also by other utilities for cable, internet, and phone wires, which, in this case, caused the pole to lean. While DTE overhead crews have determined that this pole poses no immediate danger, our engineering team will work in partnership with the other utilities to determine a solution.”
