DETROIT – Former President Donald Trump falsely claimed that photos from the Kamala Harris rally at Detroit Metro Airport last week were AI generated to exaggerate the size of the crowd.

The Harris campaign held the rally last Wednesday, a day after Tim Walz was announced at the VP pick for the Democratic ticket. Her campaign estimated that 15,000 attended the rally.

WDIV was at the rally, and while we didn’t count 15,000 attendees specifically, we can confirm several thousands of people at the event. You can watch our report from the event that day below:

You can also view several photos taken by photographers from The Associated Press, showing the large crowd.

Trump’s statement, posted to Truth Social, claimed that “nobody” was at the airport hanger, and called for the Vice President to be disqualified from the race. The Harris campaign refuted the claim.
