A new WDIV/Detroit News survey shows where voters stand on the state’s U.S. Senate race.

Here are some of the key findings on the U.S. Senate race in Michigan:
- Elissa Slotkin leads Mike Rogers 46.8%-43.3% -- a lead of 3.5%.
Rogers cut into Slotkin’s lead from August, which was at 8.5%. He’s done so by bringing Republican voters back home following the primary election.
Slotkin holds an 8.1% lead over Rogers among independent voters. She continues to take 12.7% of leaning Republican voters after taking 16.3% of that group in August.
- Slotkin is winning 91% of Kamala Harris voters. Rogers is winning 85% of Trump voters.
- Slotkin holds a 13-point lead among college voters. Rogers leads with non-college voters, 46.6%-43.7%.
- Slotkin holds a 16.4-point lead among women, with 5.7% of women remaining undecided. Rogers holds a 10.9% lead among men with 5.3% remaining undecided.
- In Metro Detroit, Slotkin’s lead has dropped from 28.1% in August to 10.5%. Rogers’ lead out of state has dropped from 10.3% in August to 3.2%.
Slotkin has a 32.2% lead (62.6%-30.4%) among absentee ballot voters, while Rogers leads among those planning to vote early by 4.6% (50%-45.4%).
Poll methodology
The Glengariff Group, Inc. conducted a Michigan statewide survey of November 2024 likely general election voters. The 600 sample, live operator telephone survey was conducted on Oct. 1-4, 2024 and has a margin of error of +/-4.0% with a 95% level of confidence. 14.3% of respondents were contacted via landline telephone. 85.7% of respondents were contacted via cell phone telephone. This survey was commissioned by WDIV Local 4 News and the Detroit News.
