Artist lineup for 99.5 WYCD Downtown Hoedown released

DETROIT – The highly-anticipated artist lineup for the 32nd annual 99.5 WYCD Downtown Hoedown, presented by Ram Trucks, Coca Cola and Coors Light, was officially announced Monday morning. It was announced on the "Dr. Don Morning Show with Rachael and Grunwald" and features some of today's most exciting country music artists including Dierks Bentley, the Band Perry, Love and Theft, and Tyler Farr.

The weekend-long event will once again turn the expansive grounds surrounding Comerica Park into county music central from Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1.

"We are very excited that the 99.5 WYCD Downtown Hoedown will again be held at the Comerica Park grounds this year," Debbie Kenyon, senior vice president/market manager for CBS Radio Detroit said. "The Downtown Hoedown is a world-class event and Comerica Park offers a fantastic backdrop. It allows us to provide a great entertainment experience in the heart of Downtown Detroit. We showcase some of the biggest names in country music along with some of the area's best local bands on three stages throughout the weekend. The Comerica Park grounds are very user friendly with easy freeway access, lots of amenities and plenty of parking within walking distance."

"I'm so excited to have some of the hottest stars in country music play this year's WYCD Downtown Hoedown; including  Dierks Bentley, the Band Perry, Big & Rich, Tyler Farr, Love & Theft, Chris Young, Swon Brothers, Jon Pardi, Drake White, Cadillac Three and the list goes on and on," Tim Roberts, WYCD program and operations manager said. "We've got one of the best lineups we've ever had. Our fans are going to get continuous show stopping performances from country' s biggest names to the best local talent from around the Motor City to keep all three stages rockin' all weekend-long."

Back by popular demand and sold-out success, the WYCD Downtown Hoedown is again offering a limited number of three-day weekend passes for only $35, which go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Weekend passes are available at all Ticketmaster locations, ticketmaster.com, or service fee free at the Joe Louis Arena and Fox Theatre box offices and Hockeytown Authentics in Troy.

A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit Defeat The Label charity that promotes a bully free society without social labels and stereotypes.

Debuting in 1983, the annual event has played host to such legendary country artists as Hank Williams, Jr., Brenda Lee, Tanya Tucker, Mel Tillis and Willie Nelson, revered megastars Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and Big & Rich, and today's most popular breakout country and crossover bands like Rascal Flatts, Lonestar and Lady Antebellum.
