Comedian Rob Riggle includes Detroit in 'things we lost in 2015' skit

DETROIT – Comedian Rob Riggle is not making friends in Detroit after using a picture of blight in the city as part of a joke on Sunday afternoon.

Riggle put together a montage of pictures of "things we lost in 2015."

The montage was just over two minutes long with dozens of pictures of news makers this year, including Bill Cosby, Chipotle, Donald Trump, and things that happened within the NFL. But only the picture of Detroit sparked outrage.

Riggle's joke aired on the Fox NFL pregame show Sunday night.

Many people came to the city's defense on social media using the hashtag "Detroit vs. Everybody."


Riggle responded to the blasts on his Facebook page with the video and this comment, "A look back at 2015... You can hate the message but don't hate the messenger. It's just the way it was.... Here's to happier days in 2016!"
