PONTIAC, Mich. – The Maine’s immersive Mirror Tour took over the Crofoot Ballroom on Wednesday.

The band from Phoenix is on the road in support of “You are Ok,” an emotional album about enduring and overcoming that was released earlier this year.

Like the album, the show was a reminder that bad things happen in life, but everything is temporary and will pass. The guys performed in front of a screen that flashed lyrics about being OK and finding strength.

The show opened with “Slip the Noose,” the first track from the new album. From there, the group played a mix of songs from its discography.

One of the best parts of the show was how much of a point the band makes to interact with fans.

At one point, lead singer John O’Callaghan went to the back of the venue to sing, but not before getting the audience to sing Smash Mouth’s “All Star,” Panic! at the Disco’s “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies,” and The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside.”

“Flowers on the Grave” closed out the night. The 9-minute long song is a powerful track that ties together the new record, and tied together the concert. The audience had their arms around each other as they sang the lyrics back to the band.

The Maine makes it a point to stick around after their shows to meet fans for free. All five members took photos, answered questions and chatted with fans about how much their music means to them after the show ended.
