Dating can be hard, which is especially true these past couple of years.

During the beginning of the pandemic, Netflix launched a reality show called “Love is Blind.” The show has opened up casting and is looking for singles who live in the Metro Detroit area.

The show has a simple premise: the single people go on blind dates inside pods where they can only hear, but not see, each other. Once the singles “fall in love” with each other’s personalities and get engaged to be married, they can then see what the other person looks like. Once the engaged couples meet face to face, they must go on vacations, live together and start planning their big wedding.

One of the successful couples that were the first to get engaged in the show is from Detroit: Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton. This couple took a leap of faith with each other and caught up with Live in the D two years ago. You can learn about their marriage here.

If you are interested in applying to join the cast, the application includes short essay questions and a 15-second video explaining why you’re ready to find love in these pods. Those applying must be at least 21 years old and willing to sign a personal release.
