Dozens of artists to perform Labor Day weekend

DETROIT – The full lineup was announced Tuesday for the 2024 Detroit Jazz Festival poised to take over the city on Labor Day weekend.

Organizers for the annual music festival on Tuesday, July 2 shared the entire lineup of artists who will perform in Downtown Detroit on Aug. 30-Sept. 2. The festival, which is free to the public, will be held at Campus Martius Park and at Hart Plaza -- where the historic Dodge Fountain was recently resurrected.

Here’s the lineup for this year’s Detroit Jazz Festival:

Friday, Aug. 30

  • 6 p.m. - Dr. Valade’s Brass Band featuring Shannon Powell
  • 7 p.m. - TRANSLINEAR LIGHT The Music of Alice Coltrane featuring Ravi Coltrane with Special Guest Brandee Younger, and the Detroit Jazz Festival Chamber Orchestra
  • 9 p.m. - 2024 Artist-In-Residence BRIAN BLADE & THE FELLOWSHIP BAND
