Jack White and Meg White are officially members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The class of 2025 was announced Sunday night, and Detroit’s The White Stripes made the final cut. The indie rock duo, who got their start playing small clubs around Detroit in the ’90s, consists of guitarist Jack White and drummer Meg White.

As many know, The White Stripes performed for the last time together in 2009, and officially broke up in 2011. Meg White lives here in Detroit, and Jack White of course is still releasing music and touring as a solo artist. He just played at the Masonic Temple earlier this month.

While fans would love a White Stripes reunion on stage during the induction ceremony, don’t get your hopes up. Meg White has made it pretty clear she no longer wants to perform anymore, and does not like the public eye. I would honestly be shocked if she even showed up to the ceremony.

We will most likely get Jack White performing some classic White Stripes songs, and hey, that’s totally OK. But if Meg does get behind the drum kit, expect me to be freaking out in excitement.

The other inductees are Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast and Soundgarden.

Congrats to The White Stripes, another Detroit musical act inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
