DETROIT – For those who hope to become the next JEOPARDY! champion, the journey begins with a single step: signing up for the Online Contestant Test. Beginning Monday, September 12, in conjunction with the season premiere, prospective contestants from the U.S. and Canada can go to Jeopardy.com and register for the next editions of the College and Adult Online Tests.

“I always say the contestants are the real stars of JEOPARDY!, and I encourage those of you who enjoy playing along at home to try out for the show,” said JEOPARDY! host Alex Trebek. “I am pleased to report that the registration issue experienced by some of our Canadian contestant hopefuls last season has been rectified, and we look forward to seeing more of my fellow citizens from the north on the show soon.”

The College Online Test is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, while the Adult Online Test will take place October 4, 5, and 6. For more information, please visit the Be a Contestant page.

Approximately 1 million people have taken the Online Contestant Test since JEOPARDY! began offering it in 2006, and online testing has expanded JEOPARDY!’s contestant pool to include more women, minorities, and students.

JEOPARDY!, America’s Favorite Quiz Show®, and its host, Alex Trebek, are in their 33rd season in syndication. With 23 million viewers each week, JEOPARDY! is the top-rated quiz show on television, and has won several awards and distinctions over the course of its 30+ years on the air, including setting a Guinness World Records® record for the most Emmy® Awards won by a TV game show (33 Emmys).
