clementine -- Halsey
Halsey released a video for her new single "clementine" on her 25th birthday. This latest single is from her upcoming third album "Manic," which is expected to be released on Jan. 17.
The songs released so far, "Nightmare" and "Graveyard," seem to have qualities that put them a step above 2017's "hopeless fountain kingdom." There's a new level of emotion, and skill with the lyrics that drive them forward.
The video for "clementine" features Halsey and her younger brother Sevian Frangipane dancing among massive fish tanks at an aquarium. The dance has a hint of humor to it, while the majority of the emotion the video and song portrays is a sense of poignancy and aching.
"Oh: and ash for trusting me enough to be apart of this, you rock too sis," Frangipane said on Instagram.
"I'd like to tell you that my sky's not blue, it's violent rain / And in my world, the people on the street don't know my name / In my world, I'm seven feet tall / And the boys always call, and the girls do too / Because in my world, I'm constantly, constantly havin' a breakthrough (Hmm) / Or a breakdown, or a blackout"
Halsey will embark on her Manic World Tour in 2020.

Don't You Worry -- Jez Dior
Rapper Jez Dior recently dropped a new album, "Handle With Care."
Make no mistake, he is often referred to as a rapper but his work on the record transcends rap.
"Don't You Worry" is one of the happier tracks on the album that covers tough topics, including addiction, heartbreak and suicidal thoughts.
"When all you really know is pain / When your tank on E and you got nothing / When your back's against the wall I'm singing / Don't you worry, no."

Me and the Moonlight -- City and Colour
Dallas Michael John Albert Green, is a Canadian musician and singer-songwriter who records under the name City and Colour. His latest album "A Pill for Loneliness" is out now.
The album does not shy away from emotional topics, and "Me and the Moonlight" is no different. Green's voice is delicate and haunting throughout the album but the simplicity of this track makes its impact even stronger.
"Not everything you say / Should be heard / Some things should stay / Buried in the dirt
And when there is no target / For your anger / Could it be that you're / The one who is hurt?"
The album is worth listening to in its entirety. It's the sixth studio album from City and Colour through Green's own record label, Still Records.
"‘A Pill for Loneliness' was a true labour of love. thank you to all of the beauties who helped bring it to life. celebrating the release of this record without my best friend Karl seems unimaginable, but the love and devotion he brought to this music must be acknowledged. he always pushed me to be the best that i could possibly be and i am forever in his debt. his memory will live on through these songs and in the hearts of everyone who loved him," Green said on Facebook.

Too Soon -- BANNERS
"Too Soon," off of BANNERS' "Where The Shadow Ends," is a ballad about love and regret.
Michael Joseph Nelson, who performs under the name BANNERS, sings about giving up on a relationship too soon, only to realize down the road that he shouldn't have walked away.
"If I had it all / To do again / Then I'd hold every second with you and never let it end / 'Cause I was wrong / And now I see it right / Should have walked through the storm just to see what's on the other side."
The lyrics are solemn and relatable, and the song is melodic, as his tracks always are.

I Love To Hate You -- Kat Saul
Nashville singer Kat Saul released her latest single, a poppy number called "I Love To Hate You." The song is very clearly about a relationship that didn't end well.
The 22-year-old artist didn't name her ex, but made it very clear on social media that this song was inspired by someone she used to date. "And to the ex this song is about, thanks for helping me hone my sound & fueling my fire. I love to hate YOU," she said. "Also, to the ex this song is about who once told me after a show my songs were "shouty" with "unbridled angst"...YEAH UR RIGHT AND IT ROCKS."
Earlier this year she released her debut EP "From Unit 408." Her upcoming project "is the product of her youth. It's Friday night lights, emo phases and prep school - sparkly pop songs, glitter-eyeliner, power chords, hip hop beats and head-bangers."
