One of Detroit’s favorite events returns this Thursday. Will you be there?
For the past 14 years, every September the city as a whole celebrates the Detroit Month of Design with Eastern Market After Dark being one of its staple events since 2012. This Thursday, September 19th from 6-11 p.m. the nation’s oldest public market transforms into a nighttime creative district.

Produced by Design Core, an economic development nonprofit for creative industries, Eastern Market After Dark brings together small-businesses, big businesses, community organizations, artists, galleries, designers and musicians to cultivate an incredible electric evening showcasing the creative people that make Detroit so vibrantly what it is.
In 2012 Eastern Market had an initial attendance of 4,000 and has now grown to attract more than 30,000 attendees a year. For the past two years the event has been presented by the Gilbert Family Foundation in collaboration with other community sponsors, including us (Local 4) for the very first time this year.
Eastern Market After Dark is free and open to the public.
