DETROIT – This week on Flashpoint (watch episode above):
It's been almost four weeks since we cast our ballots at the polls. They counted them that evening and, in our case, well into the next morning. so -- let's count them again. No one seems to think that a three-state recount has any chance of changing the outcome.
It's all coming at the directive of the Green Party candidate who barely registered on the vote meter. And it's going to cost millions of dollars. Does this make any sense at all? Surely, team Trump doesn't think so, though their refusal to endorse the results before the election doesn't help their argument now. So what do we do?
We'll talk about that this morning, and we'll rundown what we've seen so far of the Trump administration. Say what you will -- he's got a thousand jobs he can brag about this week.
Speaking of jobs, more and more of them headed to Downtown Detroit with a big week of announcements. We'll talk about that, too.
And then, we'll dig into the weed wars. More than half of the states now recognize marijuana as medicine, and of course that includes Michigan. But it still feels rather shady. If we're supposed to treat it as serious medicine, the neon green storefronts may not help. We also recently found that one Michigan doctor has written nearly 12,000 prescriptions for marijuana -- that's about 14 percent of the state's total. And when you pick up your prescription for Lipitor, it's a reliable dosage in a reliable strength. No one would argue that about the array of pot brownies, cookies and candy bars. Is this really medicine, or just a weak front for recreational use? My guest this morning is the new face of marijuana legalization in Michigan. Anquenette Jamison will be here.
