The announcement comes less than a year after Puck's Wolfgang Puck Grille closed inside the MGM Grand Detroit.

"It's great to return to Detroit and to the MGM Grand," said Wolfgang Puck in a news release. "I have a long-standing relationship with MGM Resorts International and strong partnership with MGM Grand Detroit. Detroit has a lot of great restaurants and it's an excellent place for us to be. We're looking forward to bringing two new concepts to locals and visitors."

Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria and Cucina will have a "warm and inviting atmosphere" with house-made pastas and specialty dishes, antipasti, salads, and entrees featuring meats and fish.  The restaurant will also offer about a dozen of Puck's signature oven-baked pizzas..

Wolfgang Puck Steak is being developed specifically for MGM Grand Detroit. It will offer guests steakhouse favorites with Wolfgang's signature style including grilled steaks and meats, shellfish and roasted whole fresh fish plus a selection of sauces and side dishes.

"This is tremendous news for both MGM Grand Detroit and the city," said Steve Zanella, general manager of MGM Grand Detroit in a news release. "We are constantly listening to our guests, reviewing our product offerings and reinvesting in our property. We are very excited to partner again with Wolfgang for the openings of his new restaurants."

Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina will open where Saltwater is currently located at the MGM Grand Detroit while Wolfgang Puck Steak will replace Bourbon Steak.  Both of those restaurants are operated by Chef Michael Mina. Both the Mina Group and MGM Grand Detroit have decided to end their partnership at the end of their five-year contract.

"We have greatly enjoyed our relationship with the Mina Group and thank them for their contribution to our success," said Zanella.

Both of Puck's new restaurants will be led in the kitchen by Chef Marc Djozlija. He began his career with Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group in 1992 as part of the opening team of Spago in Las Vegas.

"Working with a Chef like Marc is great. He's a talented chef and a great businessman. And, he's born and raised in Detroit so he knows the people and the city very well," said Puck.

The opening dates for both restaurants have not been announced.
