GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Meijer, a Michigan-based company, is looking for chefs in the midwest to feature their products in the new Frederik’s by Meijer line.
Culinary artisans and chefs can pitch their “Midwest Made” treats by Oct. 21, and those selected will have their “shelf-ready” products displayed on Meijer’s shelves. To qualify, Midwest companies have to make their retail-ready products in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio or Wisconsin.

“Frederik’s makes high quality, innovative and unique foods accessible to our customers for those moments when they’re looking to make dining memorable,” said Peter Whitsett, Meijer executive vice president of merchandising and marketing. “We’re excited to use Frederik’s to highlight locally crafted products that show off the culinary talent and ingenuity found in our communities.”
Frederik’s by Meijer brand was launched in October 2021, and according to the Michigan company, the brand reflects the company’s passion for supporting local businesses and growing their community.
“This opportunity is particularly special because it gives us the chance to find niche culinary experiences and bring them to our customers on a larger scale,” said Carla Henderson, director of supplier diversity and indirect procurement.
