Grosse Pointe Park gym visitors notified of possible COVID-19 exposure after positive test

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. – Visitors who went to a Grosse Pointe Park gym in late December are being notified that they might have been exposed to COVID-19 after a person tested positive.

An individual who went to the Meade Fitness Center in Grosse Pointe Park during the week of Dec. 28-30 tested positive for the virus, according to authorities.

Anyone who was at the Meade Fitness Center that week is being contacted about their possible exposure to COVID-19.

The Lavins Activity Center is being closed from Tuesday (Jan. 5) until 7 a.m. Monday (Jan. 11), the business announced.

Staff members will be tested for COVID-19, and the building will be sanitized and deep cleaned, the announcement says.

The company will post an updated notification if a longer shutdown is required.
